Bio – Quintin Watts (aka. Q-Daddy)

Quintin was born and raised in Liberty, Texas. Being an only child, he was never really exposed to music outside of his mom singing to him at every opportunity. Quintin is an excellent vocalist with a keen sense for harmony and pitch. Quintin a very good showman too.

His involvement in Kenefick started after he found out that Marty Wells and David Fahl were playing at open mike nights. He thought he could add some vocal flavor, and was he right. He started as a back-up singer and "one- handed" drummer. Tried the bass, bought a guitar, picked up some mouth harps. But ultimately, Quintin quickly evolved into fronting the band with Marty, and handling many of the lead vocals. His first attempt at song writing was about the trials of his youth. He started writing the lyrics to “Hard Road”, title track on the first Kenefick CD, in the parking lot of a honky tonk waiting for Marty. He and Marty then finished up the song, and the haunting acoustic track turned out to be one of the strongest songs on the CD.

Other songs Quintin and Marty have written together have come about on a dare almost. Marty and Quintin are sometimes competitive in a way. Those challenges are the inspiration to write songs. Although Quintin and Marty have different styles, it seems to work because they have come up with some very good songs. The performance aspect started with the Planet Texas Cookoff Team, of which both are members, and participated in World Championship Showmanship Awards together. However, Quintin has never been afraid of a microphone. This all just primed his pump, so to speak.

Quintin is a single man but still looking. He currently lives in Houston, TX.
